In an aspiration for freedom the owners bought an old carrier ship to turn it into an autonomous boat house. Because the boat is still to navigate and therefore the view of the captain respected, the full dept of the boat is used and the profile kept low. A patio is inserted to bring light into the lower spaces and serves as a buffer between the atelier and the rest of the house. The double height living room connects the two levels of the boat and creates a spacious flow throughout the whole interior. On the higher level a terrace is created from where one can gaze at the sunset on the water with the waving trees in the back.
