The site of this Low Energy House (BEN house) is situated in a forested residential area. Like trees carried by there trunks, there 's a clear distinction between the heavier upper volume, in this case made up of brick, and a lighter base, here consisting of glass, wooden frames and concrete panels.
The division between the day area downstairs and a night area above is broken by the void above the dining table around which a study and a multifunctional space are situated.
Throughout the house the tension between the different views are accentuated so that you never get an overview of everything at the same time but spaces are still openly connected. The relation between the interior and the garden is strongest in the living room where the grass is at seat height because of the locally lowered floor.
