With its pitch roofs, L-shaped volume and small windows the existing house has a straightforward traditional appearance at the street side. The two story part of the new extension continues the architectural language of old, avoiding an unbalanced result.

At the garden side the low extension opens up the house with broad windows lending the volume, together with the wooden "brise-soleil", horizontal proportions that emphasize its relation with the garden. Cooking, dining and living spaces, all with direct view on the garden are given more space and are openly connected.
